7. Naturally GC Workshops!
Are you ready to explore the unexpected? Get hands-on with nature at Naturally GC’s Wildlife Encounters!
There are slimy encounters with reptile shows, learning about Koala habitats, exploring local creeks and older kids can even experience being a junior wildlife carer/ranger for the day.
With daily activities planned for all ages, events are located in and around the Gold Coast and most events are FREE.

8. Currumbin Rock Pools
Just a short 15–20 minute drive from Currumbin, the Currumbin Rock Pools are a favourite local escape for families, nature lovers, and anyone wanting to cool off in a stunning natural setting.
Surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hinterland, the fresh water pools are perfect for swimming, splashing, and relaxing on a sunny day.
There’s plenty of space for a picnic by the creek, with grassy areas and shady spots to settle in for the afternoon. Kids will love exploring the different pools, from shallow paddling areas to deeper sections for confident swimmers. Best of all, it’s free and feels like a world away from the busier Gold Coast hotspots.
Tip: Be aware rockpools can be slippery with moss. Also it is not recommended to jump into the rockpools from heights.
